Dance for diabetes fund-raiser

"Dancing for Diabetes," a fund-raiser to benefit the National Diabetes Foundation, will be sponsored by the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Sun City West Monday.

Donors may contribute any amount they like with the minimum of $5 for one dance with a professional competition ballroom dancer and instructor at the studio. Both men and women instructors will be available, and no prior dancing experience is required. Donors may contribute for more than one dance, and singles and couples are welcome. No appointment is necessary, and participants are welcome between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

If untreated and unchecked, diabetes can cause serious problems such as heart disease, kidney failure and amputations.
The studio sponsors blood mobiles and presents dance shows for charity. It is at 13576 Camino del Sol in the Mercado del Sol shopping area across from True Value hardware.
